“Turning Red” is an upcoming American computer-animated comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and directed by Domee Shi. The film follows the story of Mei Lee, a 13-year-old girl who transforms into a giant red panda whenever she gets too excited, nervous, or embarrassed.

The movie is set in Toronto, Canada, and showcases the Chinese-Canadian culture. The story explores Mei Lee’s struggles with adolescence and her relationship with her overprotective mother. The film features the voices of Rosalie Chiang as Mei Lee, Sandra Oh as Mei Lee’s mother Ming, and James Hong as Pops, Mei Lee’s grandfather.

“Turning Red” is set to be released on March 11, 2022, and will be released simultaneously in theaters and on Disney+.
